The team is led by Michelle O’Keefe and has significant experience working with charitable organisations, the not for profit sector, friendly societies, pension trusts and private clients.
Michelle worked with Davy Stockbrokers for over 18 years where she was a Director in the Private Client division. Prior to leaving Davy, Michelle managed a team responsible for the construction of alternative investments for the Davy client base. For seven years to October 2014 Michelle was the Managing Director of BDO Private Wealth Management Ltd., where she was responsible for the set up a MiFid entity for the provision of advisory services to credit unions and private clients.
Michelle has extensive private client experience and outside of her advisory work with credit unions she currently provides treasury management advice to private clients, charitable organisations, friendly societies and pension trusts.
Michelle moved to Goodbody as Head of Advisory Services with responsibility for the Credit Union Team, through the transfer of the business from BDO PWM in October 2014.
Karl Goggin started his career in Deloitte & Touche as an economist before joining Morgan Stanley as an equity research analyst covering pan-European financials. While at Morgan Stanley Karl moved internally to the equity trading desk where he was a market maker in pan European equities. Prior to joining BDO PWM, Karl was with NCB Stockbrokers where he was responsible for pan European equity sales into the Irish institutional client base and also covered the Irish financials in equity research. His expertise is capital markets, research, trading and execution. Karl joined BDO Private Wealth Management in 2012 as Investment Director, where he was responsible for the strategic investment management of client portfolios and moved to Goodbody with the transfer of the business in October 2014.
Neil has been at Goodbody for over 25 years and manages portfolios for a select number of clients including private individuals, charities, pension funds and corporates. As the former Head of Goodbody Bond Department, he combines his background in macroeconomics and bond markets with a strong understanding of how asset allocation fits into wealth management.
Laura DeVoy has worked with Goodbody for 13 years. She progressed from a generalist analyst role to a focus on financials and consumer discretionary ahead of becoming an Investment Manager. She is a member of the Asset Allocation Committee and the Equity Committee responsible for all equity recommendations within Wealth Management. Laura has lectured for many of the major universities and regularly presents on national media, including RTE and Today FM. Laura is a CFA charter holder, has a Masters in Investment and Treasury for which she received a scholarship and a degree in business studies from DCU. Laura manages a discrete number of high net worth portfolios.
Maura has over 22 years' experience in the investment management arena. She is a qualifed accountant and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. Maura worked with New Ireland Investment Management from 1990 to 1998 before joining Smurfit Paribas which was acquired by Anglo Irish Bank in 1999. Maura joined Goodbody in May 2012 after eight years at Bloxham as Wealth Development Manager.
