Cautiously optimistic

15 September 2020

After another volatile week for tech stocks last week, Goodbody Research Analyst Niamh O’Leary updates investors on the market outlook as well as the key talking points from the recent Asset Allocation meeting.

  • Volatility in markets continued last week as the larger market-cap tech stocks suffered despite some outperformance by cyclical sectors.
  • Niamh also touched on the implications of ‘lower for longer’ interest rates in US for asset values as well as August’s mixed economic data.
  • Taken together, the Goodbody Investment Team retains a cautiously optimistic stance and ‘buy the dip’ mentality for portfolios, should opportunities arise.
