IMMA & Goodbody
Goodbody Supporting the Future of Irish Art
IMMA, The Irish Museum of Modern Art, is Ireland’s national institution of contemporary and modern art. Based in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, IMMA is home to over 3,500 works accessible to visitors through exhibitions, collaborations, loans, and touring partnerships. Substantial cuts in arts funding since 2008 have meant fewer acquisitions for public collections, fewer commissions of new work and reduced artist fees.
As Ireland’s longest established stockbroking firm, Goodbody wanted to help create a strong and lasting cultural heritage for the Ireland of the future and support the cultural institutions that make art viable in this country. Goodbody is therefore proud to have partnered with IMMA in a fundraising initiative called IMMA 1000. This initiative is designed to support living Irish artists in three ways; by creating new annual bursaries to support Irish artists taking part in IMMA’s Artist Residency Programme; by commissioning new work and by supporting the acquisition of living artists’ work into the National Collection.
As the founding corporate partner to the IMMA 1000 initiative, we have committed to seeding the IMMA 1000 fund annually over 3 years.
