Simon is Head of Wealth Management as well as being a member of the Goodbody Executive Team. He joined Goodbody in 2000, having previously worked with Merrill Lynch International and eircom Group. As a Director of Goodbody Corporate Finance for over 15 years, Simon has extensive experience in advising corporate clients on IPOs, public company fundings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Ken has over 15 years' experience in Goodbody. He has held positions in Finance, Capital Markets and Wealth Management. With direct client and research experience, Ken has a strong understanding of all sides of the investment process and his role is to ensure that the Goodbody client-centric approach is applied to every client interaction in Investment Management from monitoring our performance, introducing innovative products and opportunities for clients and overseeing relationship management.
David has over 20 years’ experience in financial services working predominately in Wealth Management, Stockbroking and Management Consultancy. David joined Goodbody in February 2006. In that time, he has fulfilled a number of roles and his present role is Head of Trading & Execution. David is a member of the Goodbody Executive Team and the Wealth Management Senior Management Team. Prior to joining Goodbody, David worked with Accenture, where he was a Senior Manager in Financial Services. David has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from University College Cork.
David is a senior trading strategist on the Active Trading Desk. As an expert in the field of technical analysis, he provides sophisticated and bespoke trading calls to his clients. David’s knowledge of the technical side of the market allows him to formulate trading strategies such as range trading, momentum trading, pair trading and catalyst trading. David has been trading for over ten years at Goodbody.
Philip has been at Goodbody for 9 years and manages portfolios for a select number of clients including private individuals, pension funds and corporates. Prior to Goodbody, Philip worked for Bank of Ireland and KPMG where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and as an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute (AITI).
John is an experienced trader managing accounts for both short term active trading clients and more medium term value investors. He employs fundamental and technical analysis as a means of stock picking and uses multiple strategies to choose attractive entry and exit points for his clients. John has been with Goodbody all his working career and has significant experience across a variety of Wealth Management disciplines including equity, CFD and fixed income trading as well as spending a number of years in Goodbody Corporate Finance. Leveraging the relationships he built up in his corporate finance days, John specialises in working with Corporate clients on their Wealth Management needs. In his spare time John is a keen follower of all forms of sport and has a Bachelor of Commerce from UCD, specialising in Banking & Finance.
Padraig has over 16 years’ experience working in the investment industry. He has been at Goodbody for eight years. He holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics (Hons) from NUI Galway.
Neil has been at Goodbody for almost 30 years and manages portfolios for a select number of clients including charities, foundations, private individuals, pension funds and corporates. Neil sits on the Goodbody Strategic Asset Allocation Committee where he combines his background in macroeconomics and financial markets with a strong understanding of how asset allocation fits into wealth management.
Catriona has over 17 years’ experience with a Big 4 firm advising in the area of personal taxation, Catriona’s client base includes a number of high net worth individuals and her role involves assisting those clients with their domestic and overseas tax affairs and addressing their tax planning needs. This tax technical expertise is on hand to assist with the Financial Planning and investment process. Catriona is an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser and a Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP). She is a regular contributor to periodicals and media on tax related matters.
Brian is a Senior Investment Manager based in Cork. He manages a portfolio of private clients, corporates and charities within the Munster area. Brian has over 20 years' experience in stockbroking having worked in New York, London and Dublin. Brian holds a B Comm from UCD and has worked as a bond trader and specialises in both equities and fixed income.
Niall Collins has been a Senior Investment Manager at Goodbody since 1999 advising high net worth individuals, corporates, trusts and charities on Financial Planning & investment strategies for the medium to long term. Prior to his current role, Niall worked in the leisure industry in the UK, Middle East and Hong Kong. Niall has a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from University College Dublin, is a MRCVS and completed an MBA in International Finance in 1998.
Jim joined Goodbody in 2015 having held many senior positions in the industry. As one of Ireland’s leading experts on pensions he specialises in the delivery of innovative and creative solutions for our clients. He is also a well-known and outspoken commentator on pension issues and is a huge advocate of simplicity in an industry he feels is unnecessarily complex. He is a Pensioneer Trustee and was voted Irish Pensions Personality of the year at the Irish Pension awards in November 2015.
Liam joined Fexco Stockbroking in 1999 where he worked his way from floor trading on the Irish Stock Exchange to overall Head of Trading. Following Fexco’s merger with Goodbody in 2011, he joined Goodbody’s Active Trading Desk where he manages a portfolio of private clients, corporates and charities. With a professional background in Film & Photography, he has a particular interest in the media and technology sectors. Liam uses a combination of technical analysis and fundamental research to formulate his trading strategies and uses CFDs where appropriate to capitalise on short term investment opportunities.
Laura DeVoy has worked with Goodbody for 17 years. She progressed from a generalist analyst role to a focus on financials and consumer discretionary and worked as second to the Chief Investment Officer ahead of becoming a wealth manager. She is a member of the equity committee, responsible for all equity recommendations within wealth management. She manages a discrete number of high net worth portfolios and specialises in active portfolio construction. Laura has lectured for many of the major universities including UCD, DBS and the Institute of Bankers. She also regularly presents on national media, including Newstalk, RTE and Today FM. Laura is a CFA charter holder, has a Masters in Investment and Treasury and holds a degree in business studies from DCU.
Gary has over 18 years’ experience in Goodbody and manages investments for a wide variety of private clients, charitable institutions and pension portfolios. Gary previously worked on the Investment Committee team, researching equities and selecting investments for managed portfolios. He has a BA in Economics from TCD, and a Masters in Economics from UCL Belgium.
Karl Goggin started his career in Deloitte & Touche as an economist before joining Morgan Stanley as an equity research analyst covering pan-European financials. While at Morgan Stanley Karl moved internally to the equity trading desk where he was a market maker in pan European equities. Prior to joining BDO PWM, Karl was with NCB Stockbrokers where he was responsible for pan European equity sales into the Irish institutional client base and also covered the Irish financials in equity research. His expertise is capital markets, research, trading and execution. Karl joined BDO Private Wealth Management in 2012 as Investment Director, where he was responsible for the strategic investment management of client portfolios and moved to Goodbody with the transfer of the business in October 2014.
Kathryn Hannon has over 10 years’ experience in advising high net worth individuals, trusts and charities on tailored wealth and investment solutions. She specialises in both Financial Planning and Retirement/Asset Management for a wide variety of clients including Owner/Directors of business and professionals in the legal and medical fields. Kathryn graduated from NUI Galway with an honours degree in Corporate Law, is a Chartered Member of the Securities and Investment Institute in London and is studying towards the CFP designation. Kathryn interned at Metlife Bank in New York prior to commencing her career at Goodbody.
Pádraig has worked at Goodbody for over 12 years and he specialises in financial planning and asset management for private individuals, pension portfolios, companies and trusts. Pádraig worked on the trade & execution side of our business before specialising in portfolio management in 2012. These varying roles within the Wealth Management Department have provided Pádraig with experience in dealing with investors with both short and long term time horizons as well as varying investment objectives and risk profiles. He has a BSc in Finance and a Higher Diploma in Applied Economics, both from University College Cork.
Dara has been with Goodbody for over 15 years and has been part of the Active Trading Desk since its inception. He has significant experience in the wealth management area and deals on a day to day basis with a select number of Private Individuals, Companies and Pension funds.
Jill joined Goodbody in 2001 and spent 12 years working in Wealth Management in Dublin. She joined the Cork office in 2013 where she now looks after portfolios for a small number of clients. She holds a B.A. from UCC and is a professional member of the Institute of Banking.
Andrew joined Goodbody in early 2017. He began his career in AIB Group Risk and subsequently worked in their Corporate Banking North America division as a Portfolio Analyst. In 2005 Andrew moved to Anglo Irish Bank. Here he worked in Corporate Treasury before taking up the position of Client Relationship Manager in Private Banking where he managing a substantial private client investment book. Andrew also worked for 2 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager with Clinch Wealth Management prior to joining Goodbody. He has a BA (Hons) in Mathematics; Higher Diploma in Computer Science and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning all from UCD. In 2013 he qualified as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Andrew is a flexible and adaptable advisor with a proven track record of influencing and developing creative solutions to match client’s needs.
After a decade of successful short-term trading for private and corporate clients, Jerome is now the Active Trading Desk’s dedicated Trading Strategist. His role involves in-depth stock and market analysis to help generate trading ideas for Goodbody clients who want to use short-term trading strategies.
Aoife joined Goodbody in August 2012 and works from both the Galway and Dublin offices. Aoife is a Chartered Tax Advisor, Chartered Accountant and holds an honours degree in Accounting and Finance from Dublin City University (DCU). Aoife has extensive experience as a Pensions and Tax consultant. Aoife sits on the council of the Irish Tax Institute and is involved in a number of their committees. Aoife also sits on the DCU Alumni Council. Aoife actively volunteers for the charity Pieta House.
With over 25 years' trading experience in both bonds and equities, Shane trades on behalf of a number of high net worth clients. He spent 10 years in AIB Group Treasury where he headed up the Primary Dealing Unit, trading European Government Bonds and interest rate swaps. His experience gives him a leading edge in all aspects of wealth management, which has led to a strong following from market professionals.
Andrew has over 25 years' experience in financial services predominately in banking, private banking and stockbroking. He joined Goodbody in 2007 and heads up the Goodbody Cork Office. He has previously served as a member of both our Asset Allocation Equity Committee and our Asset Allocation Bond Committee. Prior to joining Goodbody, Andrew held a number of senior roles within private banking in both the South and West of Ireland.
David has 18 years’ investment experience at Goodbody. In that time, he has built up significant expertise built in managing and advising business owners on wealth protection and growth. David is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Ross has over twelve years’ experience working in the financial services sector, mainly in the area of investment strategy. Ross’s background and experience enables him to provide tailored investment solutions catering to all levels of risk appetite, incorporating Equities, Bonds, Cash, Alternatives and Structured Products. Prior to joining Goodbody Ross was Head of Investment Strategy at Merrion Stockbrokers for over 4 years where he was responsible for developing thematic strategies in addition to co-managing the discretionary portfolio. Ross has obtained a BSc in Mathematical Sciences and Computing from University of Limerick. Ross is a significant contributor to the financial media, particularly RTE and the Sunday Newspapers.
John joined Goodbody in 2005 and has 25 years’ experience in financial services having worked in the banking & life assurance industry. He holds an honours degree in Business from University of Limerick and a Diploma in Pensions & Retirement Planning.
Michael has been with Goodbody’s Wealth Management team for almost 20 years. Before that he worked in Ulster Investment Bank for almost seven years. He has extensive wealth management experience and works closely with his clients using his knowledge and expertise to develop suitable investment strategies with the aim of growing and sustaining long-term returns & the achievement of his client’s financial plans. He is a member of the Alternatives Investment Committee which focusses on selection of absolute return funds for client portfolios. He holds an honours degree in Engineering from UCC.
Louis has been at Goodbody for over 9 years and has previously worked for NCB Stockbrokers. He manages advisory and discretionary funds for personal, pension and corporate clients. He is an MBS graduate from UCC.
Martin O’Hora has over 25 years’ experience of working in the financial services industry in Ireland. He began his career with Irish Life before moving to Aviva where he worked in the pension sales and development areas. Martin joined Goodbody in 2011 to help clients set their retirement planning objectives and advise them of the most tax efficient ways of reaching those objectives. Martin is an associate member of the Irish Institute of Pension Managers (AIIPM). He has recently completed the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). Martin’s technical expertise combined with his experience has enabled him to broaden the scope of his advice and he is now a key member of the Goodbody Financial Planning & Investment Team.
Michelle has extensive experience in Financial Services where she has worked for almost 28 years. Michelle is a Certified Financial Planner, holds qualifications as a SIA, a QFA, a Registered Stockbroker and holds a Post Grad Dip in Financial Services. She also holds the relevant qualifications associated with financial investment and advisory roles.
Michelle is a member of the senior management team with Goodbody and currently heads up Goodbody Advisory Services. Prior to joining Goodbody, Michelle was a Partner with BDO Accountants and set up and managed BDO Private Wealth Management Ltd., from 2007 until 2014, when she transferred the business to Goodbody. Michelle previously worked for Davy Stockbrokers for over 18 years where she was a Director in the Private Client division.
Michelle has extensive private client experience and provides advisory, investment, corporate governance and treasury management advice to private clients, not for profit and charitable organisations, friendly societies and pension trusts.
Maura has over 25 years' experience in the investment management arena and is an elected member of the ACCA Ireland Financial Services Committee. She is a qualified Accountant and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. Maura manages individual, corporate and not for profit portfolios. Maura worked with New Ireland Investment Management from 1990 to 1998 before joining Smurfit Paribas which was acquired by Anglo Irish Bank in 1999. Maura joined Goodbody in May 2012 after eight years at Bloxham as Wealth Development Manager.
Owen has over 20 years’ experience in financial services in Ireland and has worked in the areas of retail banking, private banking, financial consultancy, wealth management and stockbroking. He joined Goodbody in 2013 to establish Goodbody Financial Planning. He specialises in cohesive financial plans designed to extract value and attain client goals. Owen has a MSc Degree in Financial Services and is a Certified Financial Planner®.
Ian has 17 years’ experience working in Financial Services. Ian re-joined Goodbody in 2015, having started his career here in 1999. Ian is one of our Financial Planning Managers and is based in the Galway office. He previously held similar roles with both AIB Wealth Management and Ulster Bank Wealth Management. Ian specialises in talking with clients and carefully listening to help to develop the right plan for their needs. Ian then uses his experience to identify solutions to grow and protect client assets while also ensuring those assets can be passed on to the next generation in an efficient manner.
Mark has over 20 years' investment experience across fund management, private banking and stockbroking. He specialises in multi-asset active investment management on both an advisory and discretionary basis for personal, pension and corporate clients. Mark joined Goodbody in 2013 having previously worked in Davy and Merrion Capital.
Kevin Ronayne has been advising clients on strategic investment management for almost 20 years. His clients include private individuals, pension and retirement funds, charitable institutions and family trusts and partnerships. Kevin joined Goodbody in November 2011 following 9 years as Vice President of Morgan Stanley Quilter. Prior to this Kevin worked as a portfolio manager in Davy for almost 7 years. Kevin is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and is studying to be a CFP practitioner.
Padraig has been at Goodbody for over 15 years and is a founding member of the Active Trading Desk. His team of seven traders manage the majority of the Goodbody CFD and trading clients with a focus on direct equities. He has a strong following from a number of Ireland’s top trading clients and he manages both speculative/aggressive clients as well as more conservative trading clients.
Denis has over 30 years’ experience in financial services having worked previously in AIB as an investment advisor and as a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) both in branch banking and regional banking roles. Denis has been an Investment Manager with Goodbody since 1999. He manages portfolios for a cross section of clients such as individuals, charities, trusts and corporate bodies. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Business Studies, he holds a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance as well as a Diploma in Wealth Management.
TJ is a Senior Investment Manager with over 15 years' experience managing investments for private individuals, limited companies, charitable institutions, pensions and retirement portfolios. TJ joined Goodbody in December 2000 and is now Head of the Galway Office.
