Case study: Working in partnership with Molten Ventures

Written by Charlotte Craigie, Director of Corporate Broking

At Goodbody, we have a strong track record in advising companies seeking to raise and place equity and debt capital as well as significant expertise in listing companies on the stock market. This is well-illustrated through our work with tech-focused venture capital firm Molten Ventures.

We acted as joint Financial Advisor and Corporate Broker on the company’s successful IPO in 2016 and subsequently helped it to raise £615m to fulfil its growth strategy.

Recently, Charlotte Craigie, Director of Corporate Broking, sat down with Molten Ventures’ CEO Martin Davis to reflect on the firm’s remarkable journey from a £122m market cap at IPO in June 2016 to approximately a £1.5bn FTSE 250 company today.

“Being listed gives us extra flexibility to invest – and that flexibility of being a listed structure enables us to take the best of the opportunities that come up.

“It has also enabled us to scale and to grow very, very quickly. We’ve been able to go back to the markets to ask for additional capital when the opportunity is there - and of course, we’ve been able to broaden our shareholder base which is something that is very important to us,” Davis said.
